Hello Everyone....
I hope this finds everyone happy and healthy!! Now that the
holidays are done it seems like we should be settling in for
the winter but Mother Nature seems to have given us a
reprieve! I for one am enjoying the mild winter so far!!
I am so happy to report that our Veteran's Christmas party at
the Post was a huge success!!!! I have to give a very special
shout out to our Commander and his wife. Nole and
Marianne Working certainly, in my opinion, went above and beyond to give to our hospitalized
vets....they made up over 100 bags filled with all kinds of goodies, and Marianne baked each and
every one of them a home banana bread to be tucked in there also. The party was well attended
and it seems they all had a great time dancing and singing....and all went home very happy with
bags of goodies and cookies. My Chairman Vicki Drews and all of her happy helpers once again
did a wonderful job. Thank you to everyone that helped out!!! This always makes my heart
happy...
The Children's Christmas party was also well attended and all the kids really enjoyed seeing
Santa. I would like to take this time to thank Rachael Dolin for hosting this party for the past 11
years, she has always done a fantastic job. She is now retiring from this position. So, I am
looking for someone who would like to take over this party. I am sure Rachael will give any help
or answer any questions you could have about what it entails, but if you think you would enjoy
doing this please let me know....we can help you get started!!
I would like to take this time to let everyone know that if there is ever anything you would
like put in the newsletter you only have to email me, auxiliaryunit703@hotmail.com or drop me
a note at the bar and I will make sure it is put in here.
Our ever expanding Junior Unit is keeping busy with Miss Roselle keeping them working on
those badges and filling comfort bags and making pocket flags. If you have/know of any junior
that is still not a member, please let her know and we can get them signed up and involved! I
believe it is very important to make them aware of Americanism at as young of an age as
possible!!!
I know that we can always use help at our bingo's on Thursday's!! If you ever have a spare hour
or two, stop in and see what you can do to help......it would be most welcome!!!
Our meetings are still the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:30pm....and I would love to see all
your smiling faces there!!
Respectfully Submitted
