INDEPENDANCE DAY
Hello Riders,
I apologize for leaving the blog blank for so long. I have been so overwhelmed since April I cannot honestly tell you what has happened ove the past 2 1/2 months. Never mind, today was a great day for us. We got together and rode in the Fox Lake Independance Day parade. The weather was absolutely perfect. The bikes still got hot but did not become virtual two wheeled ovens. What a great day!
This has got to be the busiest month for us as a group and a Post this year. Parade today, Save-A-Vet ride and convention next week, Boat Poker Run on 19 July and the Post Dinner Cruise on 31 July. I have no idea when my lawn will get mowed!
Friends, family, brothers, sisters and fellow riders, we need to kick into high gear to raise funds for this years American Legion Legacy Run. Jim Solberg will make the 3000 mile ride to turn in our check to national in August. We need to ensure these kids that have lost a parent in service are given a chance to get a college education. This is the best way we can do service for the veterans family when the veteran cannot. Get out and see if you can find even a few dollars for this cause. Just so you know, last Friday we raised hundreds through a meat raffle at the Fox Lake Post. Commander Kane really kicked in and got the patrons to dig deep and help out. I can truely say, there were no losers that night!!! All donations can be dropped off at the Fox LAke LEgion Post or mailed to us at
